Facilities

Students will benefit from placements at cutting-edge facilities in different schools at Cardiff University and with our industrial partners to maximise interdisciplinary collaboration.

Engineering

The DC/AC grid lab is equipped with 10kW power electronics converters, electric networks, wind/PV generators, power amplifiers and real time simulators storage as well as agent-based simulators for the integration of road transport/electric power network.

Computer Science

A traffic simulator, equipped with road-side units and a vehicle can be used to understand integration of sensor data within a vehicle & interaction with telemetry/fog services

Psychology

The Centre for AI, Robotics and Human Machine Systems will include an Immersive Simulation Facility housing a transport simulator and 360-degree 6mx6m dome.

Geography and Planning

The Cities Research Centre will develop understanding of the wider context of sustainable transport and evidence-based research outcomes essential for policy/decision making.
